About the role:
- Service, maintain, install and repair HVAC, ventilation and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, test equipment and recommend remedial work.
- Manage service jobs, order parts and maintain tools and equipment.
- Handle refrigerants safely, complete service reports and maintain compliance records.
- Provide good customer service, explain repairs and build strong client relationships.
- Follow health and safety procedures, support apprentices, liaise with the service team and participate in the on-call roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate in Refrigeration and HVAC (Level 4) or equivalent industry experience, with strong HVAC service, maintenance and fault-finding skills.
- Current refrigerant handling licence, or willingness to obtain one, with electrical registration or a relevant limited certificate being an advantage.
- Experience working with software systems, with the ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence, an EWP licence or experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently, contribute to a team and adapt to changing schedules, including travel and after-hours callouts.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting equipment, bending, working at heights and in confined spaces, with a sound understanding of HVAC tools, equipment and safe working practices.
- Current Site Safe passport, or willingness to obtain one, with a sound understanding of health and safety responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
