Excavator Operator – Queenstown

EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

$35–$40/hr depending on experience | 45+ hours per week | Long-term opportunity

We’re on the hunt for skilled Excavator Operators who know their way around a machine but are also willing to get stuck in on the ground. This is a great opportunity with a respected civil contractor offering consistent hours, a supportive team environment, and long-term potential.

About the Role:

• Operate 5T–20T excavators across drainage, roading, and earthworks projects
• Assist with ground tasks such as pipe work, spotting, and general labouring when machines are not in use
• Support the site team to meet project deadlines and daily targets
• Work a minimum of 45 hours per week

Key Duties:

• Trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
• Digging around services and reading site plans
• Assisting drainage crews and spotting for machinery
• Liaising with the site foreman to ensure job progression

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience operating excavators in civil construction
• Confidence working around services and to set levels
• WTR endorsement and a full driver’s licence
• Reliable, positive attitude and willingness to help on the ground
• Drainage experience is a strong advantage
