Civil Machine Operators – Invercargill | Applicants Nationwide
- $32–$37 per hour, depending on role and experience
- Accommodation provided plus $65 daily allowance

Franklin Smith is recruiting 11 experienced civil machine operators for assignments in Invercargill. We welcome applications from across New Zealand from operators available to work away for the full assignment.
Positions available:
- 1 x Dozer Operator – machine control experience essential
- 1 x Loader Operator – confident with high-production truck loading
- 4 x Hydrema/Moxy Operators
- 1 x Watercart Operator
- 1 x Smooth Drum Roller Operator – experienced on stabilised pavements
- 1 x PTR Roller Operator – experienced on stabilised pavements
- 2 x Excavator Operators – operating 5-tonne and 8-tonne machines
What’s on offer
Rates of $32–$35 per hour for most roles, and $32–$37 for the dozer position, depending on experience. Accommodation is provided, along with a $65 daily allowance.
Work is expected to run six days per week, approximately 10+ hours per day, starting mid-November 2026.
What we need from you
Proven experience on the relevant machinery, a strong approach to safety, appropriate licences and endorsements, and valid NZ work rights. You must be reliable and available for the full 6–7-week assignment.
