Plumber/Pipe Fitter | Christchurch
$35–$43 per hour | Major Commercial Projects | Long-Term Opportunities
An established mechanical services contractor is seeking experienced Plumbers and Pipe Fitters to join their team in Christchurch.
With major commercial projects offering substantial ongoing work, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced tradespeople looking to secure long-term employment, with some projects expected to run for 3–5 years.
There are also opportunities for experienced candidates to step into leadership positions, taking on additional responsibility and helping coordinate site teams.
The Role:
- Install commercial plumbing and mechanical pipework
- Carry out pipe fitting, crimping and associated installation work
- Complete drainage installations and associated pipework
- Install pipe supports, brackets and associated fittings
- Carry out pipe lagging and insulation work
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with other trades and site management
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety
What They're Looking For:
- Proven New Zealand experience in plumbing and/or pipe fitting
- Strong commercial construction experience
- Practical experience with drainage, pipe installation and crimping
- Experience with pipe lagging and mechanical services is advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
- Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious
- Leadership or Leading Hand experience is advantageous, with opportunities available for the right candidates

Important Requirements:
