We have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Mechanical Fitter. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in water and/or wastewater monitoring.   In this role, you will be responsible for improving the condition and performance of the treatment plant and pump station facilities, ensuring optimal day-to-day operation. You'll also be working collaboratively with an experienced team of operators and mechanical engineers.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Improving the performance of the treatment plant
  • Taking ownership of plant maintenance
  • Rectifying plant breakdowns and process issues
  • Monitoring all areas of the treatment system for signs of wear and tear and proactively initiating solutions
  • Problem-solving of treatment and mechanical issues
  • Develop and maintain an asset register, asset condition database with associated planning for replacement and repair

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • a trade qualification as a fitter/ welder/fabricator or an equivalent tertiary qualification
  • experience in the field of water and/or wastewater monitoring
  • the flexibility to work after-hours/ on-call
