Drainage Excavator Operator

We are currently seeking a Skilled Drainage Excavator Operator to join a nationwide civil construction company based in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in deep drainage, trench shields, and dewatering operations.

We’re looking for people who:

• Can operate excavators for deep drainage installations and trench work.
• Safely use trench support systems, including trench boxes/shields.
• Coordinate with ground crews and supervisors to ensure precise excavation.
• Perform dewatering tasks as required to maintain a safe and dry work environment.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and report maintenance needs.

Requirements:

• Class 2 licence with valid WTR endorsements – class 4 desirable
• Proven experience working in deep drainage
• Experience using trench shields and managing trench safety.
• Knowledge of dewatering techniques and groundwater control.
• Strong understanding of site safety protocols.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and medical.
