About the role
- Lead the commercial function across all stages of infrastructure and industrial projects, ensuring successful and timely delivery
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to drive company growth and innovation
- Manage and mentor a team of 3, overseeing contract compliance, budgeting, and risk management
- Drive business development by identifying new opportunities and securing repeat business from existing clients
- Lead tender reviews, contract negotiations, and strategic pricing decisions to maximize profitability
- Support project teams in dispute resolution and ensure adherence to contracts throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize project risk and protect company profitability
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years in a senior commercial, QS, or contracts leadership role within the NZ construction sector
- Deep understanding of NZ construction contract processes (NZS 3910, 3916, 3915)
- Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, and securing new opportunities
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively negotiate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
