Position: Commercial Carpenter (Potential team leaders)
Location: Alexandra, Central Otago
Employment Type: Full-time, temp casual. Various roles
Hourly Rate: $35 - $38 per hour (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine project specifications.
- Construct and install frameworks, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, and composites.
- Install window frames, doors, door frames, hardware, and interior and exterior trim with precision.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter in commercial construction settings.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Willingness to relocate to Alexandra, Central Otago.
