Franklin Smith has been challenging the way recruitment is delivered throughout New Zealand since 2014.
The vision is to deliver a recruitment experience that focuses on relationships and consulting over transactions. If we focus on the long term we will create an opportunity for our business and that of our clients and candidates alike.
We are currently a team of 18 with offices in Auckland and Christchurch delivering across two divisions; Franklin Smith, covering white collar roles across Construction, Property, Engineering, and Architecture; and FS Trades, focusing on volume based trades and labour recruitment. Our team has been carefully developed to excel in these sectors with experience and insight into the market conditions to ensure the longevity of each placement.

We believe honesty is the cornerstone of a long and enduring relationship. Daily we appraise opportunities presented to us based on their merits – the quick wins don’t work for us. We know we deliver to our values when we look three steps ahead in the client’s vision to see where they are going rather than where they are at.
This includes feedback to a candidate who was not successful in a role, feedback to a client about an issue with their business, and internally demanding honesty and transparency. This allows us to prove our long-term value to our clients and candidates who we believe will stay with us for a significant part of their career.
We are not fixated on the single transaction but the long-term reward. We have a strong and stable incentive strategy along with hiring the best and giving them the right compensation package. Beyond this we strive to create a safe and stable environment that leaves pressure and fear at the door.

In under four years Franklin Smith has expanded from one to 18 employees. We have established a team which delivers to a range of clients across the country and we can be found on PSA’s for major national and international companies.
